In order to save a motorcyclist at a sharp curve, the
private luxury bus driver lost control over it and fell off a small bridge to a
dry rivulet in Chhattisgarh’s Balrampur district on Wednesday night, killing at
least 13 people and leaving 53 injured.
The private luxury bus was in route from Gadhwa of
Jharkhand to Raipur. The accident took place at Daldhowa ghat, around 10.30 pm,
around 400 km away from Raipur.
Around 5 km away from Balrampur district headquarters,
the vehicle skidded into the dry rivulet and overturned two to three times,
Balrampur superintendent of police Sananand Kumar said.
A police team rushed to the spot and started rescue
operation.
The Chief Minister Raman Singh, while expressing grief over
the accident asked the district administration to provide best medical care to
the injured.
Sixteen critically injured persons were shifted to
Ambicapur district hospital, while 37 other injured were admitted to local
