Eight years after his death the ashes were made to move in unrest because the ' civil ' citizens of India continue to impudent the 'Poor Man's Shah Jahan'.
Dashrath Manjhi, the man unknown to most across the globe was about to gain some acknowledgement for his achievement of cutting a mountain unaided through Ketan Mehta's 'Manjhi- The Mountain Man', but a copy of the movie is leaked on the internet.
A very affronting act not only towards Ketan Mehta and team but towards Dashrath Manjhi too. He made history and eased things for the inhabitants of Gehlaur, but the Government did not do enough for him and his family.
He was used by Aamir Khan to increase his show's (Satyamev Jayate) television rating points (TRP). He made a visit to Dashrath Manjhi's son and daughter-in-law and also promised that he will help them financially. Recently, Manjhi's son criticised Aamir for making false promises, as his wife had died and if any financial help would have reached them he could have saved her.
This culture of using others to popularize oneself is dazzlingly filled in us. The man anguished in various pains alive, but never expected to be disrespected to this level after his death.
A similar example we have in hand is of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The time Dr. Kalam was alive I do not remember the youth remembering him, many did not even know his full name, which I doubt many still don't. But upon his death everyone's Facebook walls were full of his quotes, photos and achievements. A man so noble and so intelligent was made use of on his death in such a way should not have been tolerated.
All this has become a habit. We hit the 'Like' button on Facebook to save someone's life on a nonsensical post of a nonsensical page, and when it comes to respecting someone we put our Facebook statuses as 'R.I.P. Dr. Kalam', that is the limit of respect we can provide anyone by showing off to others what should be anyone's status on his death is my status too.
Such abominable acts do not suit the high profile society that we act to belong to.
This repeated disrespect of reputed personalities should be stopped because they have done more than what our Ministers do in multiple terms.
